Morningside Pharmaceuticals wins International Trade Award at Leicestershire Business Awards
Recognised worldwide as ‘The Sun Company’, Morningside Pharmaceuticals scooped the International Trade Award at the Leicestershire Business Awards at a ceremony on 27th April 2012. Dr Nik Kotecha, CEO, was honoured and delighted to win saying, “this is an accolade to our continued growth in international markets over 20 years”.
The Award recognises businesses implementing a strategic approach to trade and comes on the back of the company winning a Queen’s Award for Enterprise. Morningside exports more than 60 per cent of its total products to more than 80 countries and has gained 54 new customers over the last three years. The product range includes generic drugs, Morningside branded medicines, condoms and medical equipment.
Dr Kotecha remarked, “Our strategy of promoting the UK’s reputation for superior quality standards and certification ensures that we compete successfully worldwide. Winning this award has only been possible thanks to the enthusiasm and commitment of our team and I am immensely proud of them.”
Morningside were also recognised as one of the county’s best companies, being declared a finalist for the prestigious Leicestershire Business of the Year 2012 title. This ultimate accolade, sponsored by Samworth Brothers, rewards overall excellence across key business disciplines and is only announced at the gala dinner.
