Queen’s Award for International Trade 2012 presented by Lady Gretton

The Lord-Lieutenant, Jennifer, Lady Gretton JP visited Morningside on 26th October 2012 to present the Queen’s Award Emblem and Grant of Appointment to CEO Dr Nik Kotecha following the announcement of the award earlier this year.

Lady Gretton, as Lord-Lieutenant is the official representative of Her Majesty The Queen for the County and City of Leicester, and was appointed on 1 February 2003.

The Queen’s Award for International Trade, the UK’s top business honour, was in recognition of its substantial and continuous export growth over the past six years.   Morningside has exponential growth in overseas earnings and commercial success – gaining 54 new customers in the last three years and exporting to over 80 countries worldwide.

The celebration of Morningside’s success began with a formal presentation at Morningside’s premises in Loughborough, Leicestershire.   The afternoon continued as Lady Gretton toured the facility and then chatted with Morningside employees whilst enjoying tea, coffee and a cake specially designed for the occasion.

Within his speech, CEO Dr Nik Kotecha paid tribute to the hard work of his employees; “This award is testament to the commitment of our dedicated team here at Morningside.   International trade is extremely competitive and we work tirelessly to maintain the highest levels of product quality, customer service and delivery performance. This award is a tribute to the passion, commitment and effort of each individual at every level of the business”.

Dr Nik Kotecha, and his wife and co-founder Moni, will visit Buckingham Palace for a special reception for award winners in November 2012.
