Christmas Jumper Competition Fundraiser 2019

Christmas Jumper Competition

There was tinsel, flashing lights, lots of glitter and even the sound of Jingle Bells during our 2019 Christmas Jumper Competition!

The Morningside Team pulled out all the stops, so choosing the overall winner was a difficult task for our Operations Director, Monica Huang.

As part of the seasonal festivities and in true Morningside style, we also held a charity fundraiser for the Steps Conductive Education Centre, in Shepshed. The centre is dedicated to helping children with cerebral palsy and
other motor disorders to maximise their full potential.

Through our internal fundraising, as well as from money donated by Morningside rather than mailing Christmas cards, we raised £250. Well done team!

From everyone at Morningside Pharmaceuticals, we would like to wish our customers, friends and family a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

LOROS Light Up a Life Remembrance Service 2019

LOROS Hospice Light up a Life 2019

Once again Morningside Pharmaceuticals were delighted to sponsor LOROS Hospice’s Light Up a Life event, where 1,000 people gathered together to share memories, sing carols, remember loved ones and watch the lighting of the beautiful Christmas tree.

To mark the occasion our colleagues donated towards a LOROS star, which were hung on our office Christmas tree. Each star had a personalised message written onto it, dedicated to someone they miss. During the event they were taken from our Christmas tree to join thousands of other stars on the Light up a Life Christmas tree.

Morningside’s Chief Executive, Dr Nik Kotecha OBE, who spoke at the event, said: “At Morningside, family and the community are at the heart of our business, which is why we feel privileged to support this great event once more.

“Light up a Life provides people with the opportunity to honour and remember loved ones, while sharing in the magic of Christmas together. This wonderful event will go a long way to supporting LOROS’ patients and their visiting families throughout the festive period.”

Our CEO Opens the London Stock Exchange

London Stock Exchange Market Opening Ceremony

Morningside’s Chief Executive, Dr Nik Kotecha OBE, has officially opened the trading market at the London Stock Exchange.

Dr Nik joined a number of business leaders for the Market Open Ceremony on the Exchange’s famous balcony, in Paternoster Square.

The ceremony involved Dr Kotecha assembling at the front of the balcony for the minute’s countdown, followed by an engraved glass tablet being placed into the podium, which formally opens the world’s most international stock market.

Following the ceremony, Dr Kotecha said: “It was a real honour to be able to open the markets at the London Stock Exchange, which is such an historic, cultural and financial pillar of global trade.

“Businesses throughout the world know of the stock exchange and its key role in being at the heart of the City and UK’s thriving Financial Services sectors. It was great to be a part of the stock exchange’s market opening tradition.”

Dr Kotecha was asked to open the market after winning the national Entrepreneur of the Year Award, at the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards, in November.

The judges were impressed with his history of innovating to grow his businesses and clear philosophy of learning every part of his companies in detail, while building a team around him, and then moving onto his next challenge.

This has led to Dr Kotecha growing Morningside Pharmaceuticals from a garage start-up in the 1990s to one of the Midlands’ leading life sciences businesses, as well as to other investment banking and philanthropic ventures.
